I spend a lot of time at my workstation - designing in CAD, assembling mechanical parts, sketching new concepts, soldering components, and more. This adjustable table allows the work surface to be optimally placed based on the task at hand!
A detailed CAD model was completed consisting of telescoping steel tubes, four powerful linear actuators, and an MDF-laminated smooth table. The desktop PC and UPS were mounted to the frame to allow the workstation to be completely mobile.
A sturdy 8020 frame and heavy honeycomb breadboard creates a stiff workspace for performing metrology tasks.
The table allows for the reference edge of two granite parallels at a right angle, with a 1-2-3 block sliding from left to right. This creates a highly accurate linear reference surface across the entire length of the table.
By mounting a dial or test indicator to the 1-2-3 block, the alignment of CNC linear rails can be checked and adjusted to less than 2 microns of measurement error.
Sheet metal brakes usually are extremely large, heavy, and very limited in their capabilities and types of bends they can make.
This design improves those pitfalls by using a modular clamping toe configuration, that can be modified based on the application. It is also much lighter with a smaller footprint, while still capable of bending over 30" of 1/16" aluminum!
This tool can convert a standard circular saw into a precise cutting machine. A nylon, low friction track guides the saw in a straight line, while the fence can be adjusted to handle cross cutting of a variety of angles. Integrated T-tracks and clamping jigs allow workpieces to be quickly and securely fastened.
